“Haman Also Began With The Children:” HaGaon HaRav Bergman Slams Lieberman

Rosh Yeshivas HaGaon HaRav Meir Tzvi Bergman, one of the zakeinim of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah and the son-in-law of HaGaon HaRav Shach, z’tl, compared Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman to Haman.

Children from Talmud Torah Ayelet HaShachar in Bnei Brak visited HaRav Bergman in his home on Tuesday and the Rav spoke to them, saying: “The yesod of Klal Yisrael are the tinokos shel beis Rabban. Haman, in his time, also said: ‘I’ll begin with the children.'”

“They’re rising against us – the Erev Rav, they want to fight against the Torah HaKedosha, everything that is very precious to us.”

“We need to be mechazeik and we’ll tell the whole world that we won’t waver. B’siyata dishmaya, Hakadosh Baruch Hu will have mercy on Am Yisrael that the sitra achra will be removed from the world and we’ll be zocheh to biyas Moshiach Tzidkeinu.”

  1. It’s really a shame that Lieberman wasn’t imprisoned and beaten in the gulags back in the USSR. He would of accomplished so much more good for his soiled nishama.

  2. While I understand the feelings, this might be bordering on criminal incitement to violence.

Let’s take something from his agenda that is not clearly negative from Torah point of view, and try to find something that will work and then challenge him to cooperate in that area and not in other areas, where his agenda is most hateful. For example, I understand, he wants more haredim to work. So, propose to redirect some of the current subsidies to charedim into encouraging work in some acceptable manner that does not fully disrupt the community. He might even add some funds to encourage that. And then see in a year or two whether this approach works.

Maybe you don’t fully understand how hurtful this is. Try saying to a Holocaust survivor who is not holding by your views that you’d love have him gassed. Or maybe a Reform Rabbi that you wish that the recent Muslim kidnapper have killed him.

Only because Israel is not a free country, and has laws that would not be tolerated in the USA. This is one of the reasons I don’t live in Israel. I like having rights.

  5. Milhouse, the Israeli government does bad things because not enough frum yidden move to ארץ ישראל, if there were more frum yidden in ארץ ישראל then the charidi/frum parties would be bigger and we would have not had 4 consecutive elections, the right wing/ chareidi parties were only 2 mandates away frum having a coalition.
sadly you speak like the מרגלים who looked for excuses not to live in ארץ ישראל, a yid needs to look for excuses why its possible to live in ארץ ישראל like יהושע and כלב בן יפונה:

  6. Milhouse, incitement to violence is not that legal in US, so don’t be so hasty. I think an important criterion separating free speech from criminality is ” if those involved have the ability to immediately act on the threat.”

Maybe lawyers here can clarify. I do not know how it works in Israel.

  7. Its amazing how long it took for these great Torah scholars to come out of the woodwork to realize the true intentions of the “secular atheistic Medinah.
What we’re seeing and know since the inception of the “State of Israel”, the people are waking up slowly to. They needed a Haman Rasha the likes of Lieberman && to see that Israel is a צרה for Klal Yisrael. Bibi wasn’t better as in a whole but he had the sixth sense to maneuver himself so people didn’t concentrate but in essence they’re all the same crappy atheists wanting to strip Klal Yisrael of our holy Torah. Now its black and white so its no big deal to realize it but this is precisely what the founders had in mind and weren’t shy to explicitly say it. It was the total Eradication of Judaism.
Thank G d they didnt succeed. וכל המינים……

  8. Hello Ben Ey.
You people are the מרגלים enjoying a forbidden Medina. Our land, the real EY, was taken away from us till Mashiachs day, may it b now. We are the גלות Yidden waiting for the one and only redemption.
Your philosophy is laughable and entertaining.

  9. Ben EY, a right-wing government wouldn’t change anything. First of all, there’d still be no freedom of speech or the other basic human rights protected by the US constitution. Second, the elected government does not control Israel, the self-appointed judicial and legal establishment does. It doesn’t matter who gets elected, the so-called “legal advisor” (often incorrectly translated as “attorney general”) is still in charge and what he says goes.
