VIDEO ROUNDUP: Peleg Takes To The Streets To Protest Against Chareidi Draft Law

After a long period of quiet, Peleg members took to the streets on Wednesday in a protest against the approval of the Chareidi draft law over a week ago.

The protesters blocked traffic on Highway 4 under the Coca-Cola bridge at 4 p.m. during rush hour.

Heavy traffic jams ensued and clashes erupted between the protestors and the police who tried to clear the area. Four protesters were arrested.

The protestors dispersed on their own accord after two hours.

  1. Could it be that these Peleg scum are responsible if an innocent chareidi man gets harassed by police in a Bnei Brak supermarket? Blocking traffic is not a valid form of non-violent protest and causes more people to hate chareidim. The laws enacted against the frum are due to the horrid actions of those who misrepresent Hashem and His Torah.

  2. I read a lot of Sfarim about the Chazon Ish and the Steipler may their memories be blessed forever, from my understanding about these two giants two Gedolei HaDor, they would never allow a physical protest, like in the middle of the street. They would advise us to learn more and also to learn without any interruptions. They would say Tehillim with a Minyan. They would ask us to become better people and stop all the fighting amongst us in our little circles. This is what Mishloach Manos is all about.

  3. You want to draft yeshiva boys to corrupt them in an army made up of trans and gays. Shame. Draft the Arabs. You trust the Arabs to be doctors and cooks and gave guns to the PLO.

  4. the demonstrators are potentially delaying ambulances; use water cannons with permanent stink water to give them a thorough shower that disperses them. police are not being harsh enough.

  5. We’ll keep this simple: Yehi ratzon she’ezkeh lekadeish shem shamayim like those mafginim; yehi ratzon shekol hashotrim hatmeiim yelchu haysheir l’hell or, alternatively, do teshuva quick….

  6. I am very grateful that YWN covers these protests. These protests make me feel relieved that I’m no longer a captive subject of that regime, that I’ll never again for the rest of my life have to step into an IDF induction center or be assaulted and battered by them, though it breaks my heart that I am grateful for such things.

  7. It’s one thing to hold up traffic for thousands of people… but no face masks!!!!??? But thankfully most of them were at least wearing hats and jackets.

  8. They do not gain ANYTHING from doing this. Has it ever worked to protest like this? Please! Just creating a huge chilul Hashem. And hopefully not portraying MOST of the chareidi population that believe to increase in tefillah and limud Torah. There were a few times in history when the gedolim said that there should be a country wide protest and you should have seen the difference. No shouting, chutzpa and all the rest. Tehillim, some droshos, and just being united as Klal Yisroel to make an impact.

  9. Let those who wish to demonstrate peacefully and express their political views as guaranteed under law.

Let those who don’t wish to demonstrate peacefully feel sufficient pain and suffering to wish they were never born and never again be physically capable of making life miserable for other yidden.

    Kein yehi ratzon.

  10. To all those criticizing the protestors for blocking the roads, do you hold the same regarding the Canadian truckers blocking roads and bridges? Are they also “scum”? Did you also call for the Canadian government to “use water cannons with permanent stink water” to disperse them?
You can have whatever opinions you want, but at least be consistent about them.

  11. @Golden_Middle_Way: No shouting and chutzpah at those other gatherings?! Lollllll… Of course not! ‘Cuz no mounted Nazis were attempting to trample them to death… Gosh, u dumb…
And btw — learn ur chareidi history… ur facts r dead wrong…

  12. No mounted nazis because there wasn’t anyone throwing stones and wreaking havoc. I don’t know which part of the world you live in, but obviously not Israel. It’s an old debate whether they gain anything or make things worst. But those making a big noise and oiver millions of aveiros whilst they are at it, are of the very small minority. And you are making it quite obvious who you identify with and we could never convince you any differently. In Halocho and Yidishkeit most times it goes by majority, if majority are not behaving like this, it makes us wonder who is right. We will wait till moshiach comes to tell us the truth

  13. To all those claiming this is a “chillul Hashem”, do you have any clue that chilul Hashem is a halachic matter, not a feel-good emotional matter?
Do you have any idea where to even find those halachos? Have you ever learned those halachos?

Next, do you have even the foggiest idea of the enormity of the Chillul Hashem that is Zionism and its State?

“Yashar”, on February 10, 2022 5:13 am, described this simply and “straight”.
