SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Thursday, day 16 of the virtual Gaza ceasefire.

*A wanted Islamic Jihad terrorist was apprehended on Wednesday night in Jenin. No injuries reported to security forces. The operation involved the IDF, border police and Shin Bet agents.

*IDF soldiers operating in Yehuda, Shomron and the Jordan Valley during the night apprehended 23 suspects. The suspected terrorists were turned over to the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) for interrogation. In Shechem, soldiers came under fire a number of times. No injuries were reported.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*In its annual bone marrow drive this week, Ezer Mizion collected 20,000 new samples which are being added to the organization’s international database.

*President Shimon Peres stated he salutes the off-duty soldier who risked his life to kill the terrorist responsible for Wednesday’s attack in Yerushalayim.

*Yassam vehicle containing gas grenades went up in flames in the Emakim area. Firefighters extinguished the blaze without injuries.

*Postal Authority worker arrested for allegedly stealing NIS thousands worth of gift certificates and coupons.

*Border police in the past 24 hours arrested 750 PA residents found illegally inside Green Line Israel. 7 employers were taken into custody as well, along with 4 people who drove them. Their vehicles were confiscated as well.

*Rav Shlomo Kluger – 139th yahrzeit today, 29 Sivan. He wrote hundreds of seforim, including his commentary on Shas.
