*Tuesday, day 14 of the virtual Gaza ceasefire.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Brigadier-General Shimon Chafetz retired from the IDF on Tuesday after serving for the past 15 years as the military secretary of Israel’s presidents. According to a Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) report, Colonel Hasson Hasson, a member of the Druse community, will replace him.

*Hamas on Tuesday denied any rockets were fired into Israel, calling on Israel to comply with the ceasefire and lift the emargo.

*Egypt assures Israel the Rafiach Crossing will not remain permanently open until the matter of Gilad Shalit is resolved.

*Israel Police Chief of Investigation Danunu does not intend to reopen the investigation into alleged campaign funding law-breaking by Ehud Barak based on newly received information.

*Ruptured pipe resulted in sewage spilling into the Kishon River for over 48 hours.

*The dollar against the shekel on Tuesday evening dropped below the 3.30 exchange rate once again.

*Human bones discovered in the Golan Heights are not those of IDF soldier Guy Chever or missing teen Donna Bennet pathologists reported on Tuesday evening.

*New Intel plan opens in Kiryat Gat on Yom HaNegev (Negev Day).

*The Knesset on Wednesday will vote on the bill for IDF widows and orphans to determine if widows will continue receiving monthly payments even after remarrying. At present, if a widow remarries, monthly payments are halted. Defense Ministry officials stated it is simply too expensive.
