HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein, who tested positive for COVID on Sunday, was administered the Pfizer drug Paxlovid against COVID beginning on Tuesday on the advice of his doctors, Kikar H’Shabbat reported.
Israel, which was one of the first countries to receive the drug, began administering it to at-risk patients last week. It is designed to be administered at home to mildly ill high-risk patients to prevent them from becoming seriously ill. According to a Pfizer trial, the medicine reduced hospitalization and death by 89% when administered within three days of the appearance of symptoms.
The report added that the Rosh Yeshivah is Baruch Hashem still feeling well and even delivered his weekly shiur to avreichim on Tuesday and davened with a minyan at his home.
Nevertheless, due to his age, the public is requested to continue davening for HaGaon HaRav Yerachmiel Gershon Ben Miriam l’refuah sheleimah b’toch shaar cholei Yisrael.
Rosh Yeshivas Mir, HaGaon HaRav Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, tested positive for COVID for the second time on Tuesday.
Additional Roshei Yeshivos also tested positive in the past day, including the Roshei Yeshivos of Orchos Torah, Kiryat Melech, Yad Aharon, and Torah B’Tifarta.

Before Covid, half the population was below average intelligence.
Recent studies have shown that this has now increased to more than 50%.
I used to use the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” as my guide.
Now, I prefer the book “Surrounded by Idiots”.
Please tell me, what is the point of letting us know every Rosh Yeshiva that tests positive.
I think Paxlovid is great.
But it’s still in short supply.
Also, it’s only 89% effective, while HCQ+Zinc is more than 99% effective in real-world trials (for high-risk patients.)
And Paxlovid must be taken within 3 days of symptoms.
The HCQ+Z too should be taken within that time-frame, but up to 5 days (and possibly 7 days) too will keep the patient out of the hospital. (more than 99% of the time.)

Alternatively. instead of Hydroxy, Ivermectin too is effective.
And so is the over-the-counter Quercetin, to keep the patient out of the hospital. (Check on line for proper dosage.)

Ignore all the studies that show that these protocols don’t work. They ALL were conducted after the 7-day window of opportunity, and worse, they ALL left out the vitally necessary Zinc. (So naturally the trials failed.)
At least we now know that those who got vaccinated did not get Covid. Anyone claiming the opposite is a shakran & rasha. Only reckless anti-vax rodfim get Covid and die.

Reporting that a Gadol, Tzaddik , Talmud CHacham has violated quarantine? Put others in danger? Risked spreading a virus that could harm another persons health? Im confused.

Based on previous reporting where Rav Edestein was separated by distance and full-room partition from the students, we can presume that precautionary measures were taken. You are right that this should have been reported so that nobody would doubt. I am with Avi, I could have never imagined before Covid that half of the people have IQ below 100!!
I have taken 3 vaccines but I also take zinc, vitamin c, Quercetin, Ashwaganda and Black Elderberry which may also boost the immune system. Of course studying Torah and paying special attention to Refaenu” while davening helps.
