tzadikim as they grow older & physicly weaker klal yisroel become even more thristy for even a few words , a little hakafos.. etc..
in the last dor many tzadikim were niftar younger than 90 & many were very shvach in their final years
than the eibishter had rachmonus and gave a number of tzadikim arichas yomim & tzelilus hadaas to lead the dor
we too have been witness to this matonoh .. we must double our efforts to be mekasher with them & drink their words “batzomoh”.. yehi ratzon lekayem bonu chachmei yisroel…

  2. I’m sure they got the coivd-19 poison shots…look how well they are working… And don’t tell me that they would’ve been worse off because I know plenty of older people who did not get these shots, got covid and are doing well because the variants today are not as deadly as the first variant.

  3. I was told by an askan in the health field that the current version of the flu that’s rampant in Eretz Yisroel is a lot more serious than the current version of the “virus” that’s going around. I wish them all refuah shleima. If anyone knows their full names please post them, Rav Eidelstein is Yerachmiel Gershon ben Miriam.

  4. And how many of them told their talmidim not to take the vaccine?
A whole bunch of them, that’s who.
Sorry, but truth is truth, and science is science, and yes, Hashem made science so listen to His creation.

  5. So far, the preliminary anecdotal reports compiled by the Health Ministry that the severity of illness and rates of hospitalization are lower among the vaccinated (similar to UK and South Africa experience). None of these reports are statistically significant but are a hopeful sign that these Rabbonim and all other infected will have a refuah shelamah.

  6. moishekapoieh: If you make an inflammatory statement like that against talmidei chachamim would you care to back it up with facts? Which of these Roshei Yeshivos are anti vaxers? Rav Chaim Kanievsky shlita is clearly pro vaccines. Which of these Roshei Yeshiva argued?

  7. moishekapoieh: At least get your facts straight before you spout. While I can’t speak for all of the aforementione, at least many of them had their Talmidim vaccinate.

  8. you are right. i can’t quote specific rabbis. but we all saw the massive weddings (i think at belz, for one) where thousands attended with no masks and no social distancing. obviously approved by their rabbi.
we’ve seen the news – plenty of rabbis died because of covid, and their talmidim attended mass funerals, again without masks or social distancing.
i take it back, maybe not a ‘whole bunch’ – but plenty.
to the point that i went around saying listen to your doctor, not your rabbi.
sorry if i offended anyone, didn’t mean to.

  9. The process with variants is following: regular vaccinated or previously sick people can get infected, but do not get seriously sick. Omicron takes 1-3 days to pass between people v. 3 to 5 for Delta. So, previously person A will pass to B on day 1. B becomes infectious by day 4. By that time, A already called B and said that he is not feeling well, and B takes some precautions – does not visit his Rebbe or Zeide. With Omicron, in a matter of several days, virus passes through several unvaccinated young adults who do not take precautions until one of them passes it to a vulnerable old person. So, we should protect elderly with even more caution and slow down in general, paying attention to Hashem’s messages.

  10. moishe > but we all saw the massive weddings

I don’t think it is always coming from the top. maybe in some cases. R Edelstein, as recently widely reported, is vaccinated and is very careful. Those who were not, R’L, often got it before there were vaccines and mild variants … For some reason, information about R Edelstein, and his opinion, was not widely known. Seems like it is not what a godol holds, but what other people think is worthy disseminating. Maybe if such opinions were on front pages early, it could have changed some opinions and save lives.

For another example, I am pretty confident that R Twersky Z’L was medically aware what has to be done, but he was in a wheelchair and at the mercy of people around him. Pictures from the levayah confirmed that. So, don’t always blame the Rabbis. Not everyone listens.

  11. Our generation is being punished. How can chareidim sit by and not protest gay parades in Yerushalayim and other cities. How can tattoo shops exist in Yerushalayim. How can chillul shabbos exist in Yerushalayim. One third of Yerushalayim are chareidim and one third arabs and one third everyone else. Where are the chareidim. When reb chaim Kanefsky called upon every rebbe to bring it it his chassidim 18 years ago at the start of the Yerushalayim first gay parade, they ignored him. Not thing was said. Chaim Walders books suddenly is a threat but massive gay parades throughout Israel is ok. Where are our leaders. Beating up in a dead guy in a easy. But speaking up to these chiloni politicians no one has guts.

  12. The more people that you come into contact with, the more your chances of catching Covid.

Roshei Yeshivos normally come into contact with their Bochurim as is normal in any educational environment.

Harchokos during a Mageifoh are not a new idea. I’m sure you are all familiar with the Gemoros, Rishonim and Achronim on this subject.

One thing is for sure, during this Pandemic we have learnt so many Sugyos in Halocho that we wouldn’t have dreamed of learning 2 years ago.

I think I’ve got around 5 or 6 Teshuvoh Seforim published in the last few months about Sha’alos that have come up in the last 2 years.

“Chaim Walders books suddenly is a threat but massive gay parades throughout Israel is ok. Where are our leaders.”

Hits the nail on the head. The Gerrer Rebbe Shlita, if I am not mistaken, told us not to publicly protest the “gay” parades as this would only draw attention to them and cause youngsters to ask what we are protesting about. What is the difference between that and suddenly removing all Walder’s books from a home? Are the children not likely to ask Why? The issue of the gay parades is not a sofek, Walder’s guilt was never established except by one “Beis Din” using highly unusual methods to reach its conclusions. Do not misunderstand me, Walder may well have been a dangerous fraud but that was never proved in the accepted way these things are proven. But as you say ‘beating up on a dead guy is easy’. Any genuine real victims of Walder need great rachmones and help, but then so do his wholly innocent wife and family.
