Retired IDF major-general and a National Security Council director, Giora Eiland, is calling for the establishment of parameters that would guide the government in the future should there be talks to obtain the return of bodies of IDF soldiers.

Eiland indicated that he feels parameters must be set for the future to guide decision-makers regarding efforts to obtain dead bodies from terror organizations. Regarding the return of live prisoners, Eiland does not believe parameters can be established since each case is unique and there are too many factors to attempt to define them in general terms.
