Israel has announced that although the cabinet has voted to approve the prisoner exchange deal with Hizbullah, the agreement will not be signed until such time it receives the Hizbullah report pertaining to the whereabouts of IAF navigator Ron Arad.
To date, Hizbullah has not upheld its part of the bargain, as was stipulated in the 2004 Elchanan Tannenbaum prisoner release deal. The second phase of that agreement called on Hizbullah to deliver a report on Arad, something substantial that would provide new details in the case.
As was the case then, no one really expects the terror organization to be too forthcoming, with those “in the know” stating that the only person who truly knows what happened to Ron Arad is Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, but apparently, he has no plans of sharing the information.
Nevertheless, Israel seems willing to settle with the terror organization stating it has noting new to provide in the matter.
