In the first letter of its kind, 17 leading Dati Leumi Rabbanim issued a letter on Wednesday evening calling on the public to protest against the Bennett-Lapid-Leiberman government for its harmful religious policies.
One of the signatories of the letter is HaRav Chaim Druckman, once considered close to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, and whom Religious Affairs Minister Matan Kahana claims is a supporter of his giyur reform.
“We returned to Eretz Yisrael because we want a Jewish state and not a state of all its citizens,” the letter states. “Now the government is advancing a series of laws that endanger the essence of the State and changes its identity…We call on the public to unite and protest against this attempt to turn the State into a state of all its citizens.”
The letter is signed by HaRav Druckman, HaRav Dov Lior, former Rav of Kiryat Arba, HaRav Elyakim Levanon, the Rav of the Shomron, HaRav Shmuel Eliyahu, the Rav of Tzfas, HaRav Michah HaLevi, the Rav of Petach Tikvah, HaRav Chaim Steiner, a leading Rav in Mercaz HaRav, HaRav Dovid Chai KaKohen, and others.
A protest rally will be held next week in Tel Aviv against the government. “Most of Am Yisrael is not interested in this government and its reforms,” the organizers of the protest said. “It’s a very small group of people who gained control of the state through invalid means while engaging in deceit and fraud. The entire public is uniting against the government – the Dati Leumi sector as well as a number of other sectors.”

The ENTIRE public??? Someone ought to tell these rabbonim that elections have consequences. Unless they want to fly over the “My Pillow Guy” and claim that the election was STOLEN, they should choose their words more carefully. Yes, the Bennett Coalition has little in common and ran on a platform of ridding EY of Bibi and there was no mandate to dilute many of the core established religious/social standards. However, there was a need to move the pendulum back in cases where the religious parties had overplayed their leveraged and coerced the prior government in ways where a large percentage of Israelis felt disenfranchised (correctly or not) relative to the Chareidi sector.
as the people pushing these initaitives are kupa sruga wearers like Bennet, Stern, Kahana, Elkin and others in their camp they must be in cherem.
About 100 years ago, when the Hareidim objected to zionism (this is the period of R. Yosef Haim Sonnenfeld and Dr. Israel De Haan), the religious zionists through in their lot with the secular zionists. With hindsight, the Torah world would have been better off if our rabbanim had been successful in negotiating an agreement to a Jewish community in Eretz Yisrael that would be fully autonomous and membership limited to Orthodox Jews. The price the religious zionists, who rejected the traditional rabbinical leadership of the Yishuv, paid was that in return for gaining western-style sovereignty they agreed to a yishuv run by seculars of Jewish descent (not necessarily Yidden). This not only led to an Eretz Yisrael ran by people opposed, in principle, to Yiddishkeit, but also started a gigantic war with the Muslims. And in effect, they now realize that the chickens are coming home to roost (or to use the idiom of the goyim, they made a deal with devil and the devil is claiming his due).
Welcome all to the Secular Land of Israel. A JEWISH LAND will ONLY be with Mashiach. Before we are redeemed there was/is NO Jewish Land no matter how u throw it.
GOOD MORNING ALL!
The Religious Zionists believe that everything about the State is holy, according to Rabbi Kook Jr.
So, why would they object to this destruction of Judaism by the Zionists any more so than the rest of the destructions of Judaism by the Zionists, including the shmad that is Zionism itself?
Idolatry can get very confusing.
The state is a Zionist, not Jewish, State.
Really sorry to inform you that for a Jewish state you will have to wait till Mashiach comes and instead of trying to get these reshoim to let you lead a Jewish state try and ask hashem and that will be the end of the rashoim!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we have to remember Israel is not a jewish state its a state set up by koifrim
And no i am not a satmara every FRUM rav will tell you that!!!!!
Are there any protests planned abroad as well?
