Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni on Thursday called for an immediate military response to rocket attacks into the Greater Sderot Area in violation of the ceasefire.
Livni opted to beak her usually policy of silence and called for a swift response, stating the IDF must be compelled to respond to any and all violations.
Echoing her remarks was Vice Premier Chaim Ramon, a member of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s Kadima Party, telling visiting Norwegian foreign minister that Israel must respond to ongoing ceasefire violations, adding if Jerusalem remains silent, the attacks will become increasingly frequent and eventually spread to areas in Yehuda and Shomron.
