Rishon L’Tzion: Yair Lapid is Worse than his Father

yyoRishon L’tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef attacked Finance Minister Yair Lapid during a weekly shiur. A recording to the shiur was aired on Galei Yisrael, and the rav says “his father used to speak a great deal. The son, the finance minister, is worse than his father…he does not just speak but does as well. He has introduced a bill seeking to diminish the authority of batei din and hand over a number of important jurisdictional matters to the civil courts.”

“Every other day we hear of a new law… as they only seek headlines. Here again they are acting against religion. Unfortunately this is how it went. I do not wish to speak right now but there are many issues that vex” Rabbi Yosef added.

“It is most unfortunate that Maran was niftar for if he was alive today we could seek his advice and rely on his koach but he left us in a lurch – what shall we do? We will not sit still but we will fight this. How can they introduce laws every other day and seek to diminish the authority of the rabbinical courts? May G-d bring them to do teshuvah” added the rav.

  1. He should remember that the Rishon le-Tzion is a civil servant, and the Lapid is a leading member of the Kenesset (i.e. his boss). That’s the problem with the Israeli system in which the official rabbis are employed by an agency that is dominated by non-religious at best, and anti-semitic bigots at worst.

  2. Uh Oh ,he’s going to be in trouble.

“I am concerned for the security of our great nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within.”

Do you really think such silly childish name-calling adds anything. Shas should work with the other religious parties at the ballot box to regain a position in the government coalition so that these types of decisions are not even on the agenda.

  4. When will we hear that the great Mekubalim in Eretz Yisroel have placed a Pulsa Dinoorah on this bum Lapid as they allegedly placed on the now comatose Sharon after he perpetrated the exile of the residents of Gush Katif?

  5. Yes, Lapid is anti-religous however to start calling members of the israeli government anti-semetic is something else and is a dangerous line to cross, the hate from akuperma’s posts should be something we distance ourselves from, sinas chinom is not the way forward, yes we can disagree but hate is not acceptable
