A small claims court ordered Egged to compensate a family NIS 1,000 after they were unable to board a bus on Lag B’Omer to travel to Kever Rashbi. The plaintiff explained that a number of buses passed, some not stopping and others stopping to explain the bus is full.
The family took a private alternative, which cost them over NIS 800 and their food spoiled as well. The plaintiff sought NIS 2,000 and received NIS 1,000 despite Egged objections that the claim was “inflated and ridiculous” since the buses did leave the depot on schedule.
