Tami Arad, the wife of missing IAF navigator Major Ron Arad, has joined with Aviva and Noam Shalit, the parents of captive soldier Gilad Shalit.
In her passionate letter sent to the Shalits on Sunday morning, Tami writes that “22 years after Ron disappeared into the Lebanese abyss, I am taking advantage of my right, the right of the eternally missing, joining hands with Aviva and Noam’s cry.”
Tami adds that when “I look in the mirror each morning; I am compelled to live with the guilt of having failed, of not having done enough to influence those who came before you. Then it was still possible to bring Ron home alive.”
The letter is being attached to the Shalit’s petition to the Supreme Court which will be heard on Sunday at noon. It was originally slated for 10:00AM but the government requested additional time to respond. The letter is also being delivered to the prime minister and other government officials.
