The IDF on Thursday demolished the home of Muntassar Shalabi, who murdered yeshivah student Yehuda Guetta, h’yd, 19, and injured two others in a drive-by terror shooting attack on May 2.
The move came despite efforts by Washington to intervene in the matter due to the fact that Shalabi and the rest of his family are US citizens.
The US sent representatives from its embassy in Israel to a hearing in the Supreme Court on the matter and also expressed concerns to the Israeli government. The Supreme Court unanimously rejected the appeal against the demolition of the home.

The demolition was delayed due to the US intervention but Israeli officials at the time said that they will ultimately carry out the demolition even if it means a conflict with the US.

Tearing down people’s houses, a minhag the Israelis picked up from the Brits (and note how well it worked for the Brits – you have to older than a boomer to remember when Britain was an Empire and not a second rate island off the coast of Europe). It doesn’t impair the terrorists, and just makes people more mad at you. The zionists have been in the de-construction business for two generations, and notice that it has had no impact on terrorism.
Sadly, this is one of the only ways to exercise strong familial pressure to deter wannabe murderers. If you have educated your kid to be a terrorist and you revel in murderous acts you will lose your house. Even if it is a beautifully appointed home. Choose life over murder. Live in peace and prosperity. Don’t kill and then come crying to Uncle Sam when it’s time to pay for your heinous acts.

I’m truly sorry that collective punishment was applied in this murder case. I am also truly sorry that an innocent Jewish boy was murdered for “nationalistic reasons.”
Perhaps the Biden administration should consider organizing a negotiation process to convince the Israelis to rebuild the destroyed home if the Arabs bring Reb Yosef Guetta Hy’d back to life.
Suppose a member of some religious minority group would murder an innocent young Arab man in cold blood in a majority Muslim country. The aggrieved society would not destroy the house of the murderer. I believe they would murder the whole family of the murderer.
Israelis are more civilized. Those who disagree with the court-reviewed home demolition penalty, should propose an alternative methodology of lawful response.
When Israel moved to destroy a Gaza building, they first notified all the residents to leave. Did Muslim bus bombers advise their fellow passengers to disembark before they detonated? Just sayin’.
The US should be happy the IDF didn’t demolish the home of the miscreant with him and his family inside!! How dare the US intervene! This decrepit snake gunned down a 19 year old child of parents. He didn’t care not about him nor about his family’s loss. In fact, he attempted to kill tree people and the US dares to extend a care for him and his family who were certainly proud!!! Shame on the Biden White House!
P.S. The funds to rebuild the house is coming from the PA anyways.
