Shas Party Health Minister Yaakov Ben-Yizri plans to launch an investigation in the hope of determining the cause of ongoing friction between Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical service provider and volunteer organizations, led by the nationwide Hatzolah volunteers. There are increasing reports of difficulties in obtaining MDA cooperation with Hatzolah members in many areas.

There are a growing number of complaints by Hatzolah members against MDA, despite the fact that Hatzolah volunteers are the backbone of MDA in many cities, including Yerushalayim.

There is also the competition between the organizations, including Hatzolah and ZAKA, not to mention the in-fighting reported in the chareidi media within the Hatzolah organization, which relatively recently became a national unit as opposed to individual chapters functioning independently in each city.
