Following a year when the Ponevezher Rosh Yeshivah barely left his home due to his caution against contracting the coronavirus, HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelelstein delivered a shiur in heichel Ohel Kedoshim next to Ponevezh on Tuesday evening.
Only those who have been vaccinated or have recovered from the coronavirus were allowed into the shiur.
The shiur is the first of a special “masa chizuk” in upcoming days, during which the Rosh Yeshivah will deliver shiurim in other yeshivos and heichalei Torah.

For a change, we get to see a real leader.
A leader that followed common sense, logic, and Halacha although the majority of his colleagues did not.
A leader with a consistent way of dealing with COVID.
A leader who not only preaches but also practices, the worth of human life.
A leader which if other ‘leaders’ would have followed, we wouldn’t have seen massive amounts of dead bodies in our chaples.
A leader like all leaders should be.
May Hashem bless the Rosh HaYeshiva with gezund and arichas yomim !
We see lots of images and videos of people who are not careful, but rarely see those who are. It is understandable – first, it is a good clickbait, 2nd – you have less chances to see people who do not wander outside much. This possibly creates a false impression of how many Jews do what and encourages those who think it is ok to not be carefu;
Maybe we need a special effort and reach out to Talmidei Chachamim who are careful and hear from them over zoom or phone.
