At least 11 people who were on-board the El Al rescue flight from New York to Israel have tested positive for COVID-19. The flight, which originated in New York landed in Ben Gurion on Tuesday, where all of the passengers underwent a mandatory COVID -19 test. During the test, 11 passengers were found to be infected with the virus.
It was also reported that some of the passengers, many being Chareidi, were bragging on the flight about having forged their documents to show that they were negative for Covid-19.
The report said that some passengers, after hearing the bragging, approached flight attendants to complain. The staff said that at that point, there was nothing they could do regarding the forging of documents.
According to some passengers who were on board the flight, a number of people got up a prayed in a group without wearing masks, which was in direct violation of protocols for the flight.
After the 11 people were confirmed to be infected, all of the passengers were told that they need to enter isolation and be re-tested in the next few days. The Health Ministry also informed them that an investigation of the incident was being transferred to the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).

And we wonder why some people hate charedim. 🙁
These are lies and fake news! Shame on you YWN for your agenda.
forged their documents Shim Bet needs to send them to prison for life without parole, as their behaviors is destroying lives of law abiding citizens who would never so much as utter a lie, and cannot get to Israel to see their relatives, cause of these miscreants.
those with forged documents ought to be jailed. If they are Haredim, the hillul haShem just gets bigger.
I believe I saw another story regarding a non Chareidy on a TLV bound rescue flight that started to argue and blame the chareidim for some reason. Now it all makes sense.
IMHO, if anybody becomes sick and does not have a full recovery, these fraudsters need to be in jail!!!!
If this report that passengers presented forged documents is true one hopes that will all be jailed. Dining them will not be enough. It is important that in a case like this, the deterrent objective in punishment takes over. 6-12 months in jail would send a much needed message that the COVID health regulations must be obeyed. And please do not ask me to contribute to an appeal to help the family if a chushive avreich who has been unjustly imprisoned.
If this report that passengers deliberately presented forged documents is true one hopes that they will all be jailed. Fining them for the offence will not be enough, although they should all also be required to financially compensate all the other passengers who have lost income by being required to self isolate. It is behaviour like this that generates anti-Semitism, not the reverse.
Typicall they dont care if others get it as well.this are the chareidim.Send them to Africa or Iran, there they will learn how to behave
Selfish idiots give us all a bad name. Next time we board an airplane, we will be regarded with maximum suspicion just because we wear easily identifiable Orthodox garb.
We deserve every Magefah Hashem throws at us. Don’t you people get it. He’s done with us. As they said about Elvis “Hashem has left the building” and he aint coming back.
@ JLM – we will, and rightly so. We can scream about anti-Semitism as much as well like but when we ourselves are the cause of it, who do we have to blame but ourselves? I am a Haredi but often cringe at how my fellow Haredim behave, whether in Jewish or Goyish company. How many times have I been asked on a plane why the other Jewish passenger throws his specially ordered Kosher meal on the floor? Try explaining to the goyish steward about different hashgochas. That is as foreign to him as having the good manners to just put the meal to the side is to the Haredi.
