Once again Israel is in the headlines for allegedly attacking a Syrian missile convoy heading for Lebanon. A Kuwaiti news report quoting “a senior Jerusalem official” stated the Israel Air Force earlier in the week targeted another Syrian weapons convoy that was heading to Hizbullah in Lebanon. This information is also being reported by Syrian rebel forces.

The reports are not being verified or denied by Israeli officials. It is added the attack occurred in the Bekaa Valley area, but it is unclear if the convoy was hit on Syrian or Lebanese soil.

Over recent months Israeli officials including Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon have stated numerous times that Israel does not seek any involvement in the ongoing civil war in Syria, but Jerusalem will not permit the transfer of weapons from Syria to Hizbullah.
