Riots ensued in Beitar Illit, currently suffering from the highest virus infection rate in Israel, after Israel Police dispersed the participants of a huge wedding on Tuesday night.
The wedding for the son of the Toldos Avraham Yitzchak Rebbe, attended by hundreds of people, began late Tuesday afternoon. Neighbors called the police about the illegal gathering. The police arrived at the hall but were unable to enter because the door was locked.
The policemen left the scene and returned about an hour and a half later. Even then, instead of immediately stopping the wedding they entered the hall and tried convincing the participants to leave. Finally, police reinforcements arrived and began dispersing the wedding, which resulted in physical clashes and violence.
On Wednesday, the policemen who first arrived on the scene were dismissed from their posts.
The wedding in Bnei Brak of the Erlau Rebbe’s grandson was also attended by hundreds of participants and was held at a construction site that was illegal for gatherings due to safety concerns. Neighbors called the police who arrived at the scene and dispersed the participants.

There is only 1 cure that shall deter these last weddings from ever transporting again during this Corona crisis:- The young couple under penalty of law, must be forced to divorce and never allowed to ever get back together.

We say Shomer p’saim Hashem only about people who do things without knowing better. The ones who arrange such events, and the Rebbes who support them, most certainly DO know better. While I’d hesitate to say they’re a meizid in spredding sickness and death amongst their followers, they are at a minimum karov l’meizid – and that’s not even addressing the massive chillul Hashem that these events cause.

They are suspending the police??? Why wasn’t the door broken down immediately and all the attendees, including the Rav, thrown into jail. This is crazy. When you observe yidden intentionally putting the klal at risk, you take action immediately, not go back for 90 minutes and debate the political implications. And please don’t tell us this Rav was unaware of the harm he was intentionally imposing. With all respect, what is wrong with him?

why do the police intervene? let the weddings proceed and let the consequences be restricted by disallowing residents of the ir hanidachat to leave. In fact, no one comes in and no one leaves. the problem will self-correct in due time. God forbid to risk the lives of health workers to enter to treat patients or vaccinate. let them live to celebrate as they have traditionally.
It is interesting that Beitar has the highest virus infection rate in Israel since no one in Beitar has ever been tested for the corona virus. Don’t believe me? Go find any proof that anyone there has been tested. I tried and could not find any. If you do please post it and I will withdraw my statement. Please do not tell me that you or someone you know was tested. By proof I mean an official statement that some organization tested a certain number of people in Beitar. If you can also show what the results of those test were, even better.
Let me remind you how many news organizations made a mistake and printed articles that clearly said that the person who got the 1 millionth vaccine, “he was a murderer”. A week later they are all apologizing for their error.
Here we go again, people are saying that the neighbors snitched. Maybe a person who lives far away got insulted that he was not invited. Why are we so quick to point an accusing finger??
Maybe this way of talking, accusing, assuming and guessing will bring us to another Holocaus.

When you say that neighbors called the Police, which neighbors the ones across the street, the ones to the left, the ones to the right or maybe the neighbors that live behind the building, I mean like back to back. Then again even if it was the neighbors to the sides, was it an immediate neighbor or 2 buildings down.
