Iran’s Channel 1 TV channel broadcast a show featuring Iranians singing “The Promise of a Hero,” marking the one-year anniversary of the assassination of Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani by a US drone strike in Iraq.

The lyrics of the song, sung in Farsi, Hebrew and Arabic, call to avenge the death of Soleimani, and repeats: “Death to Israel! Death to America!”

The video was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), a non-profit think that aims to “bridge the language gap between the Middle East and the West.”

Israel has braced itself for possible Iranian-backed missile or drone attacks to mark the anniversary of Soleimani’s death, with the IDF estimating that the attack may come from Iranian proxies, namely Houthis in Yemen or Iraqi militias, Kan News reported last week.

Iran has developed far-reaching capabilities in Yemen and Iraq, including advanced drones and remote-guided “smart” missiles, IDF spokesperson, Brig.-Gen. Hidai Zilberman told a Saudi news outlet last week.

Zilberman added that Israel was closely tracking Iranian movements in the area and that Israeli submarines are “everywhere.”
