The IDF on Tuesday uprooted and replanted 25 olive trees but the job is far from done as work on the Modi’in area security barrier continues. The military plans to relocate a total of 440 trees so after 1,000 dunam (250 acres) of land is expropriated from the Arab village towards meeting security needs, the trees will remain on the PA side.

The village muchtar (leader) is meeting in secret with IDF Civil Administration officials in the hope of reaching a solution but village residents vow to step-up their already violent objections to the expropriation of land and construction of the barrier.
