WATCH THIS: Shacharis In A Hot-Air Balloon In The United Arab Emirates With Rav Mota Frank

Many Israeli Chareidim, among them entire families, spent this past Shabbos in Dubai, B’Chadrei Chareidim reported.

A representative of the Dubai government visited the hotel on Motzei Shabbos, welcoming the visitors to the United Arab Emirates, saying he views them as brothers and sisters.

The peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates has led to some intriguing and unprecedented scenarios and following the uplifting Shabbos, the Breslov mashphia Rav Nota Frank led a highly unusual tefillah at neitz on Sunday morning.

Rav Frank, who was one of those who spent Shabbos in Dubai, led Shacharis in none other than a hot-air balloon over the sand dunes of the UAE’s most populous city.

The hot-air balloon, open on all sides and floating in the vast desert of Dubai, was the perfect setting for a coronavirus-safe gathering.

  1. I don’t get it. I mean I’m happy that a peace was made with several arab countries. Great strategically maybe economically too.
But what’s with this infatuation of people suddenly running there for shabbosim & touring and even moving there as if it’s Niagra Falls?

  2. Not clear what this is supposed to symbolize?

Sounds to me that a few grown men just acting like children (while wearing their Talis and Teffilin)?

  3. I’m sure it was an ‘uplifting’ experience!😊

BTW i’m happy to see that the posters here on YWN are so frum and makpid on Halocho, but what about the Mitzva Min Hatorah of בצדק תשפוט את עמיתך, where is the דן לכף זכות? And what about לשון הרע? Even if something is public knowledge is is still ossur to point it out in a derogatory way.

2 points to consider – In all likelihood they davened down below and then Hallel or a kumzitz/farbregen ‘in seventh heaven’. (doesn’t even look like there were ten men up there)
Kiruv is often been a delicate balance between an individual(s) doing something ‘bedieved’ as a one-off/short term with the hope of inspiring others to be better Yidden and keep Torah uMitzvos. There is solid basis for this in Halocho, and of course every case has to be judged by a competent Rav.
There is certainly enough room for to be דן לכף זכות.
    I am concentrating a 3 page post into 3 sentences….

Either way it’s not nice to take the air out his balloon, specially someone who is on such a ‘high’ madreigo!😁
