Bayit Yehudi leader Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday, 9 Cheshvan 5774 arrived in Har Nof, Yerushalayim, to be menachem aveil the Yosef family. He told the aveilim that “I entered politics to preserve Jewish tradition and to strengthen Jewish identity. I know that is what pained the rav. This was the joint mission we shared, to bring the Jewish neshama back to Am Yisrael” Bennett stated.
The sons told Bennett their late father requested to meet with him before Rosh Hashanah due to the tensions between them but the meeting did not occur. They now ask him to concern himself with the neshomos of the Jewish children.
After Deputy Minister of Religious Services (Bayit Yehudi) Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan was verbally assaulted as he arrived at the shiva last week, the decision was made to escort Bennett in via a rear entrance and not via the tent.
Bennett, who was out of the country last week made the shiva visit on Sunday morning.

Bennett, if you know that your foolishness pained the Rav zt”l more than the death of his son, why don’t you ask him forgiveness and do tshuva and stop associating with reshaim? A tzaddik after he passes away can do more for his people that when he was alive. Enlistment of charedim will now certainly never come to pass.
Quite a zechus that Bennet and Ben-Dahan make a shiva call to a Rav that they admired and respected, even though there were differences of opinion.
