Two IDF soldiers sustained light injuries on Wednesday afternoon from stray mortar shell fire from Syria into the Golan Heights. The IDF responded by destroying the launcher.

A wounded Syrian in moderate-to-serious condition was admitted to Ziff Hospital in Tzfas.

13 PA residents inside Green Line Israel illegally were arrested in Kfar Kana by Nazareth district police. A Kfar Kana resident in hi 50s was also arrested for assisting the illegals.

Brigadier-General Yoav Mordechai will step down next week as IDF spokesman to become the military’s coordinator of activities in the territories. He will be replaced by Brigadier-General Moti Almoz.

14 yeshiva students who were arrested for anti-Arab acts of vandalism in Jerusalem have been released from detention.

Israeli prisoner Arnon Levitt, who disappeared while on furlough from prison, was returned to Israel today, escorted by US agents. He was serving a sentence for conviction on car theft and credit card fraud and disappeared on leave in November 2000.
