Israel’s Health Ministry confirmed 887 coronavirus cases on Sunday in the previous 24 hours, with tests reflecting a 7.3% positivity rate, the lowest since the beginning of September.

There are currently 62,133 active virus cases, with 825 seriously ill patients, of whom 214 are ventilated. The death toll has risen to 1,956.

The Health Ministry has proposed a nine-stage exit plan to gradually ease the lockdown restrictions over a period of four months.

The first steps will begin when daily infections are reduced to about 2,000 per day, a goal that may be reached this week according to coronavirus czar Prof. Ronni Gamzu.
