The Kretchnif Rebbe tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday, Erev Sukkos, and is receiving respiratory assistance in his home in Kiryat Kretchnif in Rechovot. Baruch Hashem, his condition is good.
The chassidus stated that the Rebbe is under close medical supervision in his home by a team of doctors, headed by Dr. Gadi Segal, the head of the coronavirus ward in Sheba Hospital in Tel HaShomer.
The Rebbe, as well as one of his sons, who also tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, contracted the virus despite the fact that the Kretchnif chassidus, on the instructions of the Rebbe, has acted with the utmost caution, strictly adhering to health reguations. Yom Kippur tefillos were held in the Kiryah in about a dozen “capsule” minyanim and the Rebbe refrained from joining even these minyanim, instead davening at home.
The chassidus has also been refraining from holding tischem and other gatherings.
The public is asked to daven for the refuah sheleimah of the Rebbe, Reb Menachem Eliezer Zev ben Esther Rochel l’refuah sheleimah b’toch shaar cholei Yisrael.
