Hagaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky, 93, tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday, Erev Sukkos. Baruch Hashem, his condition is good and he is at home learning his regular sedarim as usual under close medical supervision.
HaRav Chaim’s family members stated: “Due to changes in the Rav’s temperature, the Rav was tested and was found positive for the coronavirus. B’Siyata Dishmaya, the Rav is currently feeling well and is continuing his sidrei limud as usual and of course, is under close medical supervision.”
Meanwhile, a number of HaRav Chaim’s grandchildren and other members of his household – including his driver – received positive results from the Covid-19 tests that they took over the past few days.
HaRav Kanievsky has been in pro-active-isolation for a number of months and only receives visitors from behind a clear divider.

Kerry Mullis, Inventor of the PCR, Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry, talking about PCR and its use as a diagnostic tool for HIV. Mullis died last year before the start of the COVID-19 crisis.
Mullis was an interesting character. He was a stoner surfer, famous more for his admitted frequent use of hallucinogens like LSD and his love of surfing. He even claimed that LSD had helped him to develop PCR.
He didn’t understand epidemiology at all. He bought into Peter Duesberg’s AIDS denial! That helped kill even more people than Trump’s COVID-19 incompetence. In any case, it is impossible for a PCR test to be a false positive but it is correct that it doesn’t necessarily predict course of the disease.

Thanks for posting a quote that was taken out of context and spread by conspiracy theorists and Russian bots! The truth is that viral PCR testing requires a minimum threshold viral load to be accurate. It won’t offer a positive outcome for one molecule! Shoiteh!
