As part of the enforcement of lockdown regulations, Israel Police will be setting up hundreds of roadblocks nationwide to deter Israelis from traveling to family or friends for Rosh Hashanah.
Anyone caught trying to sneak home late at night or early in the morning beyond 500 meters of their homes will be fined NIS 500 per passenger in the vehicle and if they are on their way to their destination, they will be sent home. Repeat violators [those caught trying to make their way through another route] will receive additional fines.
An exception will be made for anyone traveling to the airport bearing valid tickets for a previously scheduled flight within four hours of the flight or those returning home from the airport.

There is no COVID19 epidemic in Israel. Only 182 people under the age of 70 have died from or with COVID19. As many as 25% of these were not COVID deaths at all but got tagged that way. The average age of death is 80. Every year 900 die from the flu and 8000 from cigarette smoking, far more than the 1,100 that may have died from or with COVID19. Israel does not have a high infection rate. Israel does the most testing and at the highest magnification. The tests don’t reveal infections but exposure. And even if they did reveal infections, infections of people who don’t develop symptoms are not a problem. Rather, they lead to herd immunity. The Israeli leaders and press are either the biggest liars in history or the most ill-informed.
