In what many view as a brazen and perhaps foolish move, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is signaling he does not plan to step down from office, stating he plans to continue running the country. Kadima faction members are concerned that the decision may have severe negative consequences on the party.
Olmert told community leaders in the Gaza periphery area on Wednesday night that he plans to continue carrying out the responsibilities of his office and has not plans to step down. He met with area mayors and council heads to discuss the deteriorating security situation.
He told Kadima faction members earlier that it is absurd that a prime minister is expected to step down based on a single testimony against him, adding he has a great deal to say in response.

He may be caving in to the pressure…let’s wait & see. Livni already has her eyes on the PM’s chair, along with another 4 Kadima MKs.
