An additional 600 PA military forces are scheduled to return from Jordan on Wednesday. They are slated to move into Shomron, most likely in the Tulkarem and Qalqilye areas. The final decision regarding the placement of the latest PA battalion will be made by the IDF. Until the final determination is made, the forces will remain in PA-controlled Yericho.

The latest wave of armed PA troops comes following the recent deployment of PA forces in Jenin.

To date, Israeli security officials have indicated that the American-trained PA forces have not done too much to stop terrorism based in the PA autonomous areas.
