VIOLENT HAFGANOS: Hundreds Protest Incarceration of Chareidi Man [VIDEOS]

Hundreds of Chareidim took to the streets on Wednaday night, protesting the 100th day of the incarceration of a man named Binyomin Friedman.

As YWN has previously reported, Friedman was arrested for being in a Shul during COVID-19 when he wasn’t allowed to be there.

The court has agreed to release him, but he refuses to do so due to Shabbos.

Meanwhile, Israeli Police acted like thugs tonight and randomly kicked and beat Chareidim.

There is tons of footage documenting horrific police brutality against unarmed protesters tonight.

Around 15 Charieidm were arrested.

Meanwhile, things turned dangerous during the Hafganah, when a vehicle attempted to deliberately run over Chareidi protesters on bar Ilan Street in Yerushalayim.

  1. Protesting in the street is obscene, no matter what the cause is. There should be a designated stadium or arena for protesting, an electronic scoreboard can broadcast the cause, and the message can appear all over the media. Meanwhile, no chilul Hashem, no noise pollution, no fire setting, no dirty pampers strewn around, and probably no arrests. The apparent purpose of these hafganos is to broadcast a message and voice rage and displeasure. There is no morally acceptable reason why to block traffic of innocent motorists, block ambulances, patients going to a doctor, or people trying to attend a simcha. This contains the protesters in a safe space, gets them the publicity, and fails to commit the atrocity of punishing the innocent.

Meanwhile, all those trying to protest in the rest of the city “no protest zones” should be arrested and held for a minimum of 6 months with no visitors.

  2. “FOOTAGE BELOW OF THE POLICE BEING VIOLENT”
followed by videos of Chareidim resisting arrest and being chased. Moral of the story: don’t fight back and you won’t get beaten up.
And besides, this slogan “POLICE BEING VIOLENT TOWARDS UNARMED PROTESTERS” only sounds good when the police have weapons.

  3. They should post some videos of the Ethiopian protests a few months back to compare… (no police presence AT ALL back then, and it was much more brutal on the rioters’ part)

  4. Looks just like the rioting in New York and Portland. If you riot there are consequences. Since when is rioting and destroying public property something to be admired?

  5. If he was in shul WITH testing positive for corona or meant to be in quarantine-he does deserve jail time. Although I think 100 days is a bit too much. If there was no valid reason why he couldn’t be there, then keep protesting!!

  6. Now I watched the videos, I think the police need psychiatric care. And why do they send lady police if the protesters are male. Probably on purpose.

  7. I WAS TAUGHT
THAT IF YOU PLAY WITH FIRE YOU WILL GET BURNT
IF YOU CANT TAKE THE HEAT , GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN.
IF YOU MAKE VIOLENT PROTESTS AND DO DAMAGE , PLEASE BE READY TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES. .

  8. The only violence here is by the police. I have seen many of these protests. The Charedim stand around, occasionally shouting. All shoving, grabbing, hitting is by the police and the Charedim just take it.

  9. Yeah they really must find itextremely entertaining! because i honestly don’t see how anyone can even pretend they’re accomplishing anything by burning garbage and blocking streets. The only thing they are going to accomplish is make police and drivers hate chareidim . (if you wonder why being anti-charedi help avigdor lieberman , look no further) and incidentally the only video that clearly shows uncalled for violence is the first one where one of the guys (who doesn’t appear to be wearing a uniform ) is kicking one of the chareidim. (although one of the others appears to show one of the officers with their arms around young teens neck, but it’s very unclear whats actually happening ) and as to the white pickup also very unclear but seemed to be trying to avoid hitting peopel (even as people were trying to break in)
