The Yearim coronavirus hotel, which served the Chareidi population during the first wave, reopened on Sunday to once again serve the Chareidi public, along with two additional coronavirus/quarantine hotels.
The Defense Ministry decided on Sunday, in conjunction with the Health Ministry, to reopen the hotels in light of the dramatic increase in the number of new daily coronavirus patients.
The Metropolitan Hotel in Tel Aviv will serve Israelis who need to quarantine but lack the proper conditions at home and the Seven Arches hotel on the Mount of Olives will serve mildly ill coronavirus patients from the secular population.
Currently, there are 3,700 Israelis at coronavirus hotels throughout Israel under the operation of the IDF’s Home Front Command.
