When the state’s star witness against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert gives his testimony in the Jerusalem District Court on Tuesday, the prime minister’s attorneys are not expected to cross examine. Olmert’s legal team has signaled that Talansky will not face their questions when he takes the stand on Tuesday.
Olmert’s legal team stated they have not had sufficient time to prepare for the deposition but some analysts feel the move is an intention ploy, with the prime minister’s attorneys hoping that by not asking the witness questions, they will in a sense be de-legitimizing his testimony, at least to some degree.
