An indictment has been filed in the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court against an Iranian-born Israeli citizen who was placed in custody at the airport on May 8, 2008. The information was cleared for publication on Sunday.
Attorney Michal Orkaby, who is representing the accused spy whose name is not cleared for publication, released a statement that the suspect has not resided in Israel for years and did not provide enemy agents or anyone security-related information pertaining to Israel and did not and does not wish to cause any harm to Israel.
According to the Jerusalem Post, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the Iranian-born suspect, who lives abroad, was arrested at Ben Gurion Airport on May 8 after arriving in Israel for a visit.
