It was an embarrassing moment for the prime minister when protestors on Thursday night compelled him to stop his address during a Jewish Agency ceremony, carrying a large banner “The people are with the Golan”. A number of Golan Heights activists made their way to the stage, getting close to the prime minister, bringing his address to a halt.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was booed upon his arrival at the event. Golan activists are planning to step up their campaign, well-aware the majority of the country is behind them, opposed to Olmert’s willingness to relinquish portions of or all of the Golan Heights in a peace agreement with the Syrians.
