A 32-year-old Bedouin male was shot dead by Israeli border forces on Wednesday, at the Awja Crossing.

Authorities on Thursday handed over the body of the dead man to Egyptian authorities.

Israeli officials stress that smuggling and infiltration of illegals is a growing phenomenon, stating that during the past five years, police estimate some 10,000 illegals from Africa have infiltrated into Israel from Egypt.
