An Israeli Arab driver was shot and seriously wounded at about 22:00 Thursday night when he failed to halt for inspection at the gate to a girl’s high school in the Shomron community of Dolev, in the Benjamin Regional Council District.

The security guard told authorities that he instructed the driver to halt for inspection, as is the standard protocol but he continued advancing, eventually leading the guard to fire at him, striking him in his head. There were two other people in the vehicle. One fled and the second was arrested. Police report they appear to have been involved in some criminal activity.
