A burned car on Yad VaShem Street in Be’er Sheva was searched on Thursday morning and the remains of a human body were found inside. Israel Police believe that the car was deliberately set on fire in a criminal act.

It is unclear whether the person was alive or not when the car was set on fire. The police have opened an investigation.

The car had been abandoned on the side of the road for a prolonged period of time and was often used by homeless people as a place to sleep.
