Inteior Minister Aryeh Deri is establishing a unique yeshivah in Israel, one that will integrate all sectors of Israeli society – Ashkenazi, Sephardi, Chassidish and Litvack – as long as they are or have been ill with the coronavirus.

The yeshivah will reportedly be established in the Sde Chemed yishuv, site of the Chemed yeshivah gedola.

The Beit Medrash, which can house up to 800 bochurim, will be led by Rabbanim who were already ill with the coronavirus and have since recovered.

The Home Front Command already examined the site and approved the building to be used as a “coronavirus yeshivah.” The yeshivah will be funded by the Interior Ministry or the Defense Ministry.

Deri said on Sunday that the goal of the yeshivah is that “the voice of Torah won’t be halted for a minute even during the coronavirus era.”

Bnei Brak Mayor Avraham Rubinstein and Kiryat Sefer Mayor Yaakov Gutterman are consulting with Gedoli Yisrael about the management of the unique yeshivah.
