Geula Stores Targeted in Shabbos Break-Ins

robber.jpgA number of stores in Yerushalayim’s Geula neighborhood were targeted in Friday night break-ins, including Vardit’s Wig Shop, where some $200,000 in merchandise was stolen.

According to a Ladaat report, thieves neutralized security cameras and then entered via a back window on Yechezkel Street. According to the report, the thieves were in the wig shop for some 90 minutes, making sure to take a large quantity of merchandise.

Police do have leads and arrests are expected soon. Police call on residents of the area, the Geula and Bucharim neighborhoods, to check bomb shelters, alleys and hidden areas to see if they find any of the stolen goods or the boxes they were contained in.

Owners of Vardit’s stated the damage is quite significant since they are not insured.
