President Shimon Peres opened his remarks at the Jerusalem Facing Tomorrow Conference in the Jerusalem Convention Center in Hebrew, sending his wishes for a total recovery to the victims of the Chutzot Shopping Mall attack.

“They are tying to destroy Lebanon by Hizbullah and to destroy the Palestinians by Gaza. I do not know what will be in Lebanon but here, with us, it will not work,” stated Mr. Peres in a decided tone, adding “we remain determined and we will respond as necessary and continue the peace process.”

The president, who brought world leaders to Jerusalem to celebrate Israel’s 60th birthday received a standing ovation.
