Many Angered at Jerusalem Conference Following Attack

Bush_Israel_056.jpgMany southern area residents are among the Israelis angered over the reality that while they were tending to the victims of the rocket attack in Ashkelon, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and others did not see any reason to break away from the international conference in Yerushalayim, opting to remain in the Jerusalem Convention Center to take part in the festivities.

Residents stated that President George W. Bush would have understood if the prime minister absented himself from the event to tend to business, as Mr. Bush would have done if the situation was reversed.

Ministers Yishai and Dichter, with the latter being an Ashkelon resident, traveled to the scene of the attack to be there with the victims. Defense Minister Ehud Barak called for an urgent meeting of senior officials to discuss the situation, but residents point out Olmert chose to continue with his agenda, continuing to ignore the worsening realities of the south, enjoying dinner with the VIPs.

  1. There is a special place reserved for people like olmert and I hope that the rest of us don’t join him there just like he did not want to be with his people in their hour of need. May Hashem send us leaders who care for the people they lead, like a shepherd cares for his flocks of sheep.
