Officers Fly to Air Force Ceremony

They most likely did not realize their actions would cause such a stir, but officers on Tuesday attending the ceremony to honor the air force’s outgoing chief and welcome in the new commander decided not to make the 90 minute drive, but used small transport planes to fly to the Ramat Dovid base. A total of 10 planes arrived at the base for the high-level ceremony.

Interesting, outgoing Air Force Commander Major-General Eliezer Shkedy and incoming commander Major-General Ido Nehushtan did indeed arrive by car, not plane.

Critics, and there are many, stated this is just another example of the air force’s lack of concern for the IDF’s serious fiscal difficulties.
