Heads of the Shar HaNegev Council, one of the areas under constant Kassam rocket attack, met on Tuesday morning with Defense Minister Ehud Barak, seeking a commitment that something will be done to bring an end to the rocket attacks.
The community leaders told Mr. Barak that they wish to meet with US President George W. Bush while he is in Israel this week, stating that at the end of the day, he is responsible for security for the area’s 40,000 residents since Israel does not appear to be making a move if not approved by the White House.
