HaRav Shlomo Zalman Horowitz Z”L was niftar at the age of 75. Known by many in Bnei Brak, the niftar was close to Gedolei Yisrael for many years.

The niftar was close to the Steipler ZT”L and for decades, he ran the Kollel Chazon Ish in Bnei Brak.

Rav Horowitz did not feel well on Sunday morning and Hatzolah was summoned to the Vishnitz senior citizens home but the Heavenly Gezeira was written and efforts to resuscitate him failed.

The niftar’s father was HaGaon HaRav Avraham Horowitz ZT”L, a talmid of the Chazon Ish ZT”L and a chavrusa of the Steipler. His mother, Mrs. Malka Yenta A”H was a daughter of Mekubal Rav Chaim Leib Auerbach ZT”L and sister of HaGaon HaRav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach ZT”L.

The levaya began at 3:00PM from Shamgar in Jerusalem to Har Menuchos for kvura.
