Likud MK Gideon Sa’ar, who is running against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for the Likud leadership, said on Tuesday that Netanyahu has no chance of forming a government.
Sa’ar added that if he’s unsuccessful in winning the Likud primaries, he will remain in the party and support Netanyahu.
“Yesterday, a poll was published for the third time within a week that the right-wing bloc would grow if I head the Likud and that I would bring votes from the other side,” Sa’ar said. “Therefore I’m convinced that if I win [the primaries] I’ll bring the Likud to a great victory and the establishment of a government. All the Zionist parties would be invited to negotiations to join a government under my leadership.”
Likud MK Yoav Kish expressed his support for Sa’ar on Tuesday, saying: “People tell me that they’ll return to Likud if Gideon Sa’ar will head it. There’s an increase in the right-wing bloc if Gideon leads it.”
