Talansky Becomes a Suspect in PM Investigation

talansky1.jpgIn a change of events, the state’s star witness against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Moshe Talansky, appears to have become a suspect in the ongoing investigation.

Talansky was questioned by police again on Monday, this time ‘under caution’, signaling an indictment against him is increasingly likely.

Talansky was requested to remain in the country for the time being, and conflicting reports seem to indicate that he is prohibited from leaving until at least May 21st. He is expected to give advanced testimony in the case against the prime minister prior to his departure, but now, his legal team has indicated it plans to appeal – seemingly unwilling to continue cooperating at this point.

In the meantime, National Fraud Union police on Monday afternoon appeared at Jerusalem City Hall. It has been learned that detectives were looking for papers pertaining to Olmert’s business dealings during his decade as Jerusalem’s mayor.

The investigation appears to be widening and police are signaling that other key witnesses are likely to appear on the scene as investigators continue to uncover the prime minister’s activities.

  1. actually, olmert admits its true — that he got $ from talansky. he claims the lawyers said its ok.

if so, the police have no choice but to prosecute talansky, unfortunately.

he’s gotta find a lawyer who told him its legal.
