B’chasdei Hashem, rain dominates the weather forecast in Israel for the coming days. There has been concern, and prominent rabbonim and admorim after Rosh Chodesh Kislev called on the tzibur to begin reciting the special tefilla for rainfall before ‘Shema Koleinu’ in Shmona Esrei.
Temperatures have dropped over Shabbos and rain, at times accompanied by thundershowers, has begun on northern Israel to the northern Negev through Tuesday night. The rainfall is intermittent. There are flash flood warnings in place for low-lying areas.
The good news for the Mount Hermon ski resort atop of the Golan Heights is preparing for the season’s first significant snowfall.
Some of the temperatures for Sunday include:
Haifa 17C (62F), Jerusalem 13 (55), Tel Aviv 19 (66), Be’er Sheva 18 (64) and Eilat 24 (75).
As seen in accompanying photo, in some areas, the rainfall is quite significant and there is flooding in many areas as well.
Wednesday’s forecast calls for partially cloudy skies.

It is the rainy season. It is supposed to be raining this time of year.
