Two Israeli border policemen sustained injuries on Tuesday night, the result of Arab violence as police operated near the entrance of the PA (Palestinian Authority) village of Biddu, located six kilometers (3.6 miles) northwest of the capital. B’chasdei Hashem their injuries are described a “light”. They were transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
During the operation, police noticed a vehicle which made a U-turn to avoid their checkpoint. They followed the vehicle, which was stopped. Dozens of Palestinians then gathered around them, hurling rocks and objects at the border police. One Palestinian tried grabbing a weapon from one of the policemen, leading to a number of shots being fired towards the ground. A backup force arrived, and riot-control measures were used to distance the violent crowd.
