IDF Apache attack helicopters were visible over Kibbutz Kfar Aza on Sunday afternoon, protecting mourners during the funeral of Kassam rocket attack victim Jimmy Kedoshim, a resident of the kibbutz.
Shortly before candle lighting on erev Shabbos, a Kassam rocket struck Kedoshim as he was working on his garden. Despite resuscitation efforts by paramedics, he was pronounced dead on the scene as a result of his massive injuries.
During the funeral, the helicopter gunships remained visible as they offered a blanket of protection for participants in the funeral, seeking to ensure the funeral would not be interrupted by rocket attacks.
Sunday brought another day of Kassam rockets and mortar shells, with one rocket narrowly missing a school bus with children on board, some requiring treatment for hysteria.
Residents of Kibbutz Kfar Aza and the Greater Sderot Area are angered and unwilling to continue hearing empty promises from members of the national government, demanding the military be unleashed on Hamas and be permitted to do whatever necessary so Hamas terrorists realize the continued launching of rocket attacks into southern Israel is not a worthwhile endeavor.
